Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Nkoranza North, Eric Amoateng, may be a free man today if he is able to meet his bail conditions.
The former legislator spent the weekend at the Nima Police Station due to his inability to settle his bail bond.
On Friday, an Accra Circuit Court granted him a GHC 200,000 bail with three sureties after he was charged for possessing a forged passport.
Mr. Amoateng was taken into custody on Thursday upon his arrival from the United States of America (USA) where he served a 10-year jail term for drug related offences.
A family source who spoke to Citi News expressed optimism that the bail condition will be met today.
