The Mayor of Tamale, Abdul Hanan Gundado has reiterated the need for chiefs to actively get involved in the assembly’s activities.
As traditional authorities, the Tamale Mayor said chiefs’ participation in development projects will enhance sustainable growth.
Abdul Hanan Gundado maintained that the role of chiefs in development efforts cannot be underestimated, hence the need for deeper collaboration.
“The assembly has increased its level of interaction with our chiefs in Tamale: I have ensured that at least in a week I visit two or three chiefs just to tell them what the assembly is doing.”
He explained, “It gives them the opportunity to also make an input and once you come out with a policy it gets a wide acceptance and I am sure more people within the Tamale Metro area are beginning to accept the fact that Tamale is progressing rapidly and we need to all support to ensure that the rapid development finds favour.”
Mr. Gundado told Citi News his administration was poised to execute development projects which will improve residents’ standard of living.
