The Railway Workers Union say they will stop working if the Ministry of Transport fails to respond to demands by June 20.
This follows the failure to reach an agreement in their meeting between the Transport Ministry, and other stakeholders on Thursday.
The meeting was convened to address the Union’s concerns over their salary revision.
The General Secretary of the Railway Workers Union, Mr. Godwill Ntaamah says they have resolved to halt services in passenger trains if nothing is done about their plight immediately.
“There was no serious outcome of the meeting. We have given them until Sunday to do the right thing. Otherwise, we will take action on Monday. We wanted to know what they were going to give us in terms of the implementation of the welfare wages. The point is that, there was no offer, as to what they will do for us. So there is no figure for us to consider. The meeting was a deadlock meeting. We are waiting patiently for what they will do over this weekend.”
