The National youth organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Sammy Awuku says the youth of the party are united and ready for election 2016.
This is after his office and the Greater Accra Youth wing Party organized a sports festival at the Osu Klottey Constituency in a move to foster unity amongst them.
The event which was dubbed ‘Uniting through Sports for Victory 2016’, brought together the thirty-four youth wings in the Greater Accra Region to participate in various sports disciplines.
Speaking to Citi News, the National Youth Organizer, Sammy Awuku is optimistic that such a festival affords the youth the opportunity to celebrate their diversity even in the party.
“NPP has been in the news for some bad reasons for the past two to three weeks. We’ve also realized that the youth we do form part of the crux of the various campaign teams of the various presidential aspirants so it is incumbent that we unite, we come around and celebrate our unity in diversity.”
He went further to inform Citi News about their expectations for the 2016 election.
He said, “We want to see an exciting campaign and not an insulting campaign as far as the flag bearership race is concerned. We have differences in opinion but there is one common agenda; to make sure that NPP wins the election in 2016 and for Ghana to win elections 2016.”
