The Ministry of Roads and Highways says it has not received any complaints from the Progressive Road Contractors Association over the financing of their projects.

The contractors have abandoned all road projects due to government’s failure to direct funds into the Ghana Road Fund for the payment of work done.

However the Deputy Roads Minister, Isaac Adjei Mensah, in an interview with Citi News said the Ministry is yet to address the concerns of the contractors although they have not been served with their petition.

“These are individual contractors who come in here for payment of contract; they are not given contract on a collective basis. Indeed some contractors have some money to be collected from the work that they’ve done. We would have expected that if they have some challenges like this, they probably would have communicated it to us”, he said.

He gave the assurance that the Ministry was working to ensure that the necessary funds are provided for the progressive contractors to resume their work.
