The Senior Staff Association of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has denied reports that the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Rev Albert Botchwey who was ordered to step down has been re-appointed by the new Health Minister.
The former Minister of Health, Sherry Ayittey ordered Rev. Botchwey to step down in July.
But a letter reportedly signed by the new Minister of Health, Dr. Kwaku Agyemang on Tuesday, re-instated Rev Botchwey as the CEO of the hospital.
Responding to Mr. Kwarteng’s letter, the President of the Korle Bu Senior Staff Association(KOSSA)President, Charles Ofei Palm described stories reports saying the association has not “officially or accidentally sighted” it.
Mr. Offei Palm described any action contrary to the earlier directive by Ms Sherry Ayittey as “ wonton disrespect and glorifying wrongdoing of established authority and Rule of Law.”
Mr. Offei Palm further questioned the basis on which Mr. Kwarteng took the decision saying “one may ask what the Honuorable Minister learned in day to warrant the setting aside of earlier directives that were thought through, investigated and tested against established standards.”
