The heightened nationwide fuel shortage is affecting basic school pupils in the Tamale Metropolis.
The vulnerable are pupils whose parents have contracted taxi cab drivers to be sending their children to school and picking them home daily.
Equally, some parents who have their children schooling outskirts Tamale Township have been compelled to temporarily halt their children’s education.
Some of the affected school pupils in Kukuo said they have not gone to school for three days.
Some worried parents in a Citi News interview called for government’s immediate attention.
Meanwhile, President of the Tamale Concerned Citizens Association, Basharu Alhassan Dabal-li claimed Managers of some fuel stations in Tamale Township horded petrol to create artificial shortage.
According to Mr. Dabal-li, those Managers at midnight sold petrol to middle men in drums and gallons to maximize profit.
He called on the Metropolitan Security Committee to randomly visit fuel stations in Tamale Township and sanction those who are hording petrol.
There was free for all exchange of blows and verbal assaults at the Shell fuel station opposite the Tamale Catholic Cathedral where motorists struggled for the small fuel there.
