Kpando Heart of Lions have begun their preparations for the new local football season.
The club qualified for the CAF Champions League for the first time in its history and they will be competing in the First Capital Plaus Premier League and the MTN FA Cup in addition and according the club’s spokesperson, Eric Collins Odoom, the demands of the new season has pushed the team to bring in more players and already, these players are being looked at.
“Looking at the football calendar for the coming season, it will be a long one for us taking into consideration the matches we will play across the various competitions.
What we are doing now is that we are looking at players the coach recommended and they are being assessed to see if they will be suitable replacement for those we have transfer-listed. We began on Monday and we will be done by the end of the week,” Odoom said in an interview with Citi Sports on Wednesday.
He also indicated that main team will begin its pre-season training camp on Monday 21st July.
Lions finished second on the league log with 47 points; a point ahead of Hearts of Oak and will play in the CAF Champions League with league winners, Asante Kotoko.
