Abdul Majeed Waris has been handed a World Cup debut by coach Kwesi Appiah for Thursday’s match against Portugal.

Kwesi Appiah made two changes to the team that drew with Germany on Saturday, with Agyeman Badu also handed a start for the first time in the tournament, replacing the suspended Muntari.

Goalkeeper Fatau Dauda keeps his place in goal after replacing Adam Kwarasey for the game against Germany.

The Black Stars will be hoping to put recent off-field issues behind them to pick up the three points they need to have any chance of progressing from the group.

Ghana Starting IX

Fatau Dauda, Harrison Afful, Kwadwo Asamoah, John Boye, Jonathan Mensah, Rabiu Mohammed, Christian Atsu, Agyemang Badu, Majeed Waris, Asamoah Gyan, Andre Ayew
