Newly assigned Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Joseph Yammin has showered praises on President John Mahama for having mercy on him.
Mr. Yammin, who was on Saturday reshuffled from his position as Deputy Sports Minister to the position of a Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister took to Facebook to expressed his profound gratitude to the President.
The post in part read: “One year ago, I found mercy in the sight of the President and he appointed me Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports. Today, I am being moved back to my root as Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister. What else but to say, I’m grateful…”
Mr. Yammin and his substantive Minister, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah have come under serious criticism from sports pundits and the general public regarding the preparations towards Ghana’s participation in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Yamin first came under attack for proclaiming that only supporters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) will be given the chance to travel to Brazil to support the Black Stars.
People subsequently called for his removal as a Deputy Minister because he was practicing divisive politics.
He was later criticized for his lack of circumspection when he announced to the world that the government was flying $3 million cash to the Black Stars in Brazil following agitations in the camp of the senior national team.
Ghana was widely criticized by international media for flying such an amount in cash to players partaking in an ongoing tournament without looking at more efficient means of payment.
While others are angry at the President for re-assigning the two, Mr. Yammin is obviously elated by the President’s decision.
