There is growing discontent within the Black Stars camp over the delay in the arrival of match bonuses for the team’s first two matches.
Reports indicate that several meetings have been held between senior players of the team led by captain Asamoah Gyan and the management committee of the team to explain the reasons for the delay.
It is understood that there had been an initial arrangement for all players to be paid through a visa card provided by one of their main sponsors UNIBANK but that arrangement was shelved after discussions between the players.
According to reports, the government has made arrangements to courier cash to the team in Brazil which has led to several delays in the arrival of the bonuses due to international banking rules.
The team’s departure for Brasilia on Tuesday was held up for for several minutes as last minute discussions were held between Gyan and the rest of the team to assuage fears of the team.
