The ban on drumming and noise making at Osu has been lifted.

The ban was imposed in the Osu Traditional Area on May 17 this year, as a first step to pave the way for the celebration of the annual Homowo festival of the chiefs and people of Osu.

Addressing the fetish priests and priestesses (Wulomei/Woryei) of Osu after they had performed the rites for the lifting of the ban, Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI, Paramount Chief of Osu Traditional Area asked the people to avoid hearsay and rather forge ahead in unity for the development of the area.

He said Osu has regained its status in the Ga state, saying; “as we started with oneness we should continue in that manner for the improvement of our lives.”

Nii Kinka Dowuona expressed gratitude to the ancestors for their continuous protection and guidance in the development of Osu.

He appealed to the people to take the education of their children very serious so that they would grow to become responsible adults.

The Paramount Chief announce to his people that the Traditional Council had won the case of the Osu Stool land, situate at Achimota in Accra and asked the people to come together to protect it for all Osu citizens to benefit from it.
