President John Mahama will on Monday attend the inauguration of Guinea-Bissau’s newly elected President, Jose Mario Vas in Bissau.
Mr. Vas was elected in the second round of elections that ended a period of political and security instability in the West African country.
Mr Vas who is an Economist and former Finance Minister has promised to reduce poverty, increase investment in agriculture and forgive those who participated in various criminal activities.
The election and return to democratic governance was facilitated by the sub-regional grouping, ECOWAS, and President Mahama as Chair of ECOWAS is leading some of his colleagues to the inauguration.
The President is expected back in the country later today.
