Asante Kotoko drew goalless with rivals Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Stadium in a competitive encounter.
Even though the Reds had won the league weeks before, they still played with purpose and they tried to get the winner but the Phobians held their own and got a point to move them to 45 points as they remain on third.
Kotoko are still on top with 55 points with a single round of matches left to play.
Heart of Lions ,who were in the hunt for CAF Champions League football next season, lost by a lone goal to King Faisal thanks to a 61st minute penalty from Mohammed Farouk.
The home side remain on second with 47 points; just two points above Hearts of Oak heading into the last round of league matches.
Faisal have 37 points and are 13th on the log but they will need to avoid in their final league match against Berekum Chelsea.
Amidaus, were beaten 1-0 by Berekum Chelsea to send them down into Division One.
The Blues found the breakthrough in the 46th minute via a goal from Bennet Ofori and the win has moved them up to 12th position with 39 points.
Amidaus are at the bottom of the log with 33 points and not even a win on the final day will save them from the drop.
AshantiGold were also victors on the day with a 1-0 away win at Liberty Professionals.
Emmanuel Osei scored from the spot after 42 minutes to give the Miners 42 points and a move to 4th place as they seek to finish in the top four.
Liberty dropped to 11th on 39 points.
Inter Allies grabbed a vital 1-0 win over Aduana Stars in a match that could decide the survival hopes of both teams.
The Tema-based team grabbed the winner in the 25th minute through Benogo Niare and with the result, they have now moved to 7th with 40 points.
Bechem United were the round’s biggest winners as they put three unanswered goals past Medeama Sporting Club.
Augustine Okrah grabbed a hat-trick after scoring in the 38th, 50th and 74th minutes to leave his side on 39 points and 8th place. Medeama drop to tenth but remain on 39 points.
In other results, New Edubiase came back from a goal down to win 2-1 against Wa All Stars.
The home side were the beneficiaries of a late brace from midfielder Asiedu Attobrah in the 76th and 84th minutes to turn the result after while All Stars after Ismail Ganiu put the visitors ahead in the 36th minute.
Edubiase is 9th and has 39 points while Wa All Stars is 6th on 40 points.
At Sekondi, Hasaacas drew goalless with Dwarfs to leave the Cape Coast team 15th with 34 points while Hasaacas are 5th on 40 points.
The final round of matches will take place on the 4th of June, 2014.
