The physically challenged in the Brong Ahafo Region have threatened to vote against the government in 2016 general elections for failing to honour its promise about taking them to Brazil to watch the World Cup.

The physically challenged who feel they have being side-lined for so long when it comes to selecting people to represent or participate in such events say they do not understand why they were neglected in the selection of supporters to Brazil.

Their president, Annor Kodom Mathew told Citi News, they were told to bring their passports and other documents for processing and were facilitated by Seasons Travel and Tours in Sunyani.

But according to him, they were surprised to hear from Seasons Travel and Tour later that government has decided to send other supporters instead of the physically challenged despite the information that the Brazilian Ambassador in Ghana was prepared to facilitate their trip to Brazil.

Mr Kodom noted that about 200 members of the Physically Challenged Association from the region registered and gave their personal documents to Seasons Travel and Tours but not a single person amongst them has been sent to Brazil.

They are therefore calling on government to come out and explain why they were left out of the selection after they have processed all their documents to be part of the team of supporters to Brazil.
