Medeama Sporting Club has expressed its displeasure at the performance of Referee Ebenezer Armoh in their 1-0 loss to Aduana Stars in Wednesday’s First Capital Plus Premier League match at the Dormaa Park.
The Yellow and Mauves were downed by a 62nd minute from Emmanuel Akuoko but the decision, according to the club’s Public Relations Officer, Tony Nkrumah-Boateng, was one of many that were not correct on the day.
“Things began to change for us in the second half when the referee gave some questionable decisions.
The penalty was given when the foul had been committed outside the area and a lot of free kicks went against us.
When we managed to find a way to Aduana’s goal, the offside went up”, said Nkrumah-Boateng in an interview with Citi Sports on Thursday.
The result left Medeama 14th on the log with 33 points, but they have played four games less due to their participation in the CAF Confederations Cup.
They begin a series of playing catch-up matches from Sunday 4th May away to AshGold and then they face Liberty (on the 14th), Heart of Lions (on the 18th), and Berekum Chelsea on the 21st of May.
However, Nkrumah-Boateng admitted that these matches would be difficult as their various opponents would eye the points to help them attain their respective objectives.
“It will be a difficult task for us because some of the teams are in dangerous spots on the league table like AshGold so we must work very hard.
Nonetheless, we will try to make amends against AshGold on Sunday.”
