Medeama Sporting Club have expressed their joy at getting their first win in the First Capital Plus Premier League in recent weeks.
Since their elimination from the CAF Confederations Cup, they Yellow and Mauves have failed to win their last two outstanding league matches against Aduana Stars and AshantiGold but they managed to beat Liberty Professionals 3-0 at home and get three important points to help their survival.
” It was a huge relief for us today. It had been very difficult for us in our last two matches but we were determined to go all out and get the win today”, said the club’s Public Relations Officer, Tony Nkrumah-Boateng in an interview with Citi Sports after the match on Wednesday.
Medeama will play against Heart of Lions in their final outstanding match and Nkrumah-Boateng believes they can get a good result if they can be better focused than in previous matches.
” We have noticed that the players often lose concentration in matches and that is how come we have recorded bad results.
We saw it in our matches against Feyenoord and AshantiGold and we must do better against Lions.”
Medeama are currently 8th on the First Capital Plus League log with 36 points and victory against Lions will push them up to 4th depending on their goals difference.
