Heart of Lions are now seven points adrift leaders Kumasi Asante Kotoko after a 1-0 victory over Medeama SC in an outstanding First Capital Plus Premier League Week 27 fixture.

With Medeama having been involved in the 2014 CAF Confederations Cup, Lions had to wait until Sunday afternoon to claim all three points at home with a last gap goal deep into injury time.

With four minutes additional time after normal regulation, Prince Acquah popped up with a late finish to ensure Medeama picks up just a single win from their four accumulated outstanding games after their African adventure.

And with just three rounds of matches to end the 2013/2014 season, Medeama still sit eighth on the league chart while Lions would be fervently hoping that Kotoko drops points to have any possible chance of causing an unlikely upset.

Having cleared all outstanding matches, the First Capital Plus Premier League is expected to return on Wednesday, May 21, at all eight league centres.
