In these times, ten thousand cedis (GHS 10,000) can do a lot in one’s life. The nation’s station, GTV, are giving that amount to the best supporters’ group in Ghana.
In a refreshingly new concept, GTV’s GH Loudest features 20 supporters groups competing for honour and pride in showing how to back the country’s national teams as part of building excitemement ahead of the World Cup.
“It is the brainchild of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation’s television sports channel, GTV Sports Plus and at stake is 10,000 cedis for the ultimate winner,” said Jerry Kwame Ayensu, host of the show.
The first runner-up takes 6,000 cedis and 4,000 cedis goes to second runner-up.
GH Loudest will be a six week competition and will see Terry Bright Ofosu of the University of Ghana’s School of Performing Arts being a judge, together with Irene Asante, host of GTV’s Movie Chatroom and an entertainment critic.
Supporters groups gracing the competition include the National Supporters Union, Millenium Supporters Union of Ghana, Heroes, Die Hard and NAWSU. All groups featured on the first edition held last Friday, April 25.
