The Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG) wants parliament to fast-track the passage of the advertising authority bill.
According to association the passage of the bill will ensure and bring sanity into the industry.
Speaking to Citi Business News shortly after his election at the association’s Extra Ordinary General Meeting in Accra, President Elect of the Advertising Association, Joel Edmund Netty said the bill when passed will address a lot of issues related to standards.
‘The key thing we want to do is to fast track this bill if it’s passed it will bring sanity in the industry.
It will help to regulate outdoor, radio, TV but we know it’s been reviewed at cabinet and it’s on its way to parliament’. He said.
According to him the bill will also serve as a guide for all advertisers across the country; both members and non-members.
New president elect Joel Edmund Netty takes over from out-going President of the association, Norkor Duah.
His tenure will be for two years.
Also elected are Mansa Amowuah as Vice President and Mr Martin Osei as Treasurer as well as 10 members into the Executive Council.
Meanwhile the Advertising Association, Ghana will this year from November 12-14 host the IAA and the entire world of Advertising in Accra.
