The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ade Coker has denied accusations by some executives of the party that government has neglected supporters and members of the party across the region.
Some NDC executives in the region have accused the government of neglecting the rank and file of the party.
According to them, government officials have sidelined members of the ruling party in the activities of government, leading to a gradual apathy amongst the supporters of the NDC.
But Mr. Coker on Eyewitness News on Thursday indicated he ordered the regional organizer of the party to prevent the press conference in which these allegations were made from taking place.
“The press conference was not supposed to have taken place. I instructed my organizer to call off the press conference,” he said.
He pointed out that he was not present at the press conference because it was not sanctioned to take place and therefore, served notice that at the party’s next general meeting, the matter will duly be addressed.
The regional NDC chairman maintained that “the party in the region hasn’t issued any statement on this matter and the party will address the situation at the appropriate time.
