Hearts of Oak defender Nuru Sulley has expressed his disappointment for not making into Kwesi Appiah’s 26-man provisional list for the World Cup in Brazil.

The Local Black Stars defender played a very key role in the Ghana team that finished runner-up in African Nations Championship (CHAN), but that wasn’t enough to earn him a call-up to the Black Stars.

“I thought, I was going to make it to Ghana’s 26-man provisional list for the World Cup and I even anticipated to be in the final 23-man squad for the World Cup,” the 22-year-old defender told Joy fm.

“I feel bad because we are doing well in the domestic league and we translated that to Africa by conceding just a goal during the CHAN, but that wasn’t enough.

“Not withstanding that, Ghana has over thousand players, so the mere fact that people are chanting my name for a place in the World Cup is an achievement and it is my hope that I one day earn a call-up to the Black Stars.

He added by expressing his desire to play overseas within the shortest possible time.

“Playing abroad is quite head of Ghana and I think when you go overseas and excel people will see you.

“By the grace of God I am hoping there will be such an opportunity for me by the close of this year,” the Hearts of Oak defender said. ”
