The Chief Executive Officer of Wa All Stars, Oduro Nyarko has attributed Wednesday’s huge 3-1 win over defending league champions Asante Kotoko to the team’s prudence in front of goal.
All Stars won the game with goals from a Michael Mensah brace and Ishmael Ganiwu strike while the Reds grabbed a consolation from Seidu Bancey.
Speaking to Citi Sports after the victory in Wa, Nyarko said his team knew what to do with their chances on the day.
“We deserved the result because our boys were sharper in front of goal.
Kotoko dominated in terms of possession but they did not put their opportunities away.
We did and the score painted that picture.”
With the victory, All Stars now have 39 points and are just two off second-placed Heart of Lions and third-placed Hearts of Oak and Oduro indicated their interest in finishing in the top four at the end of the season.
” The point gap at the moment gives us cause to believe we can end up in the top four.
The win over Kotoko was very important in that regard and we must keep the winning trend going when we play against AshGold in our next league match.”
After AshGold, All Stars play New Edubiase and Liberty Professionals on the last two match days of this season’s First Capital Plus Premier League.
