The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) is calling on home owners in Kwahu and its surrounding areas to rent out their houses for use during the paragliding festival.
He says this will reduce pressure on the few hotels in the area during the season.
Every year, hotel owners and persons in the hospitality industry take advantage of the Easter festivities at Kwahu to charge exorbitant rates.
The Special Events Manager at the GTA, Ben Anane Nsiah however said landlords in Kwahu can be helpful in reversing the trend.
“There is pressure on the hotel rooms so what we have done is to encourage the mounting of tents. We have also encouraged the use of private homes so if you have a house with additional facilities, they can be inspected and they can be rented out as a home lounge,” he said
