Citi News has gathered that there is intense pressure on the newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives to select people for the vacant Deputy positions.
The vacant positions include two Deputy General Secretaries, two national Youth Organizers, two national women Organizers and two Deputy national Organizers.
Though it is the prerogative of the newly elected executives to appoint their Deputies, the party’s National Executive Committee has the final approval.
The NPP national Youth Organizer, Sammy Awuku told Citi News the pressure on them was unbearable.
“Of course, there is intense lobbying on the new executives who have the opportunity to have two Deputies working with them; nonetheless we believe that NEC which is mandated by the constitution to also help the elected officers have their two Deputies to work will do so soon.”
Other vacant positions to be filled include the Communications Director, Director of Operations and Director of Elections.
