The Member of Parliament for Manhyia, Matthew Opoku Prempeh says he will ensure the contract for the $306million Ridge Hospital expansion project is reviewed despite the rejection of his motion by the speaker of Parliament.
The Speaker of the House, Edward Adjaho asked the Ministry of Health to return to Parliament to explain how the project would benefit Ghanaians.
The Leadership of the house in that regard has been tasked to look into the project and make a pronouncement on it.
The Manhyia MP however says he could still push harder for a review of the agreement if the leadership fail to come with a convincing explanation.
“The leadership has accepted to look at the project. If I am unconvinced by the outcome of those leadership positions, I’m not bound by what they say, I can still reintroduce my motion,” he stated.
“The Speaker is of the belief that because of the value for money, there is a calculation that has to be done and he thinks the Ministry should be allowed to come back to the leadership and answer questions that are arising from the loan. We have to go through this motion, “ he further explained.
