Family of the late William Sarpong who died as a result of a shooting spree between the police and a suspected gang of armed robbers at Asylum-Down in Accra has headed to court demanding justice.
The family is seeking justice in the Court Room five of the Accra Magistrate Court presided over by Her Worship, Miss Mavis Kwainoe.
The family suspected the deceased death was shrouded in secrecy for which reason the exact cause should be established at all cost.
The deceased mother (name withheld) broke down in uncontrollable tears on Tuesday April 8, 2014 when the case was adjourned to April 17 without any assigned reasons.
She could not understand why the case which was supposed to be heard for the first time on Monday April 7, 2014 was for the second time adjourned.
She told Citi News she was heading to the Attorney Generals Department to demand a fast track of the case.
A family friend, Dr. Med Kwaku Sakyi-Obuobi, specialist Thoracic Surgeon who was in court in solidarity fumed over the adjournment of the case without any tangible reasons.
He requested to have a personal meeting with the Presiding Judge but his request was turned down.
