
Citi Business News has gathered that, Tigo, has begun a search for a new boss.
It follows the appointment of its current boss Adil El Yousseffi as Airtel Kenya’s new MD.
Adil El Yousseffi will replace Shivan Bhargava who quit Airtel Kenya to spend more time with his family.
Staff at Airtel Kenya, were informed via email that Shivan, would be looking to spend more time with his family presumably in India.
Adil El Yousseffi’s resignation from Tigo will take effect from April.
Adil El Yousseffi joined Tigo the third largest telecom operator in Ghana in 2012 replacing Carlos Caceres.
El Yousseffi’s exit follows that of the head of marketing and the brand manager of the company who both left recently.
Adil El Yousseffi prior to his appointment as Tigo boss worked with the Milicom group as the deputy general manager in Chad and a senior adviser in Sri Lanka.
Outside Milicom, Yousseffi has also worked for British Telecommunications and Philips Consumer Electronics.
Tigo confirmed Adil El Yousseffi‘s resignation when contacted by Citi Business News.
The telecom operator is expected to announce a successor by the end of March, 2014.
