GHANA-VOTE-RESULTThe Homicide unit of the Police CID has launched investigations into the death of the Chief of Joma, a village near Ablekuma in the Greater Accra Region.

Nii Ayittey Noryatse was allegedly shot dead in his home on Monday.

Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show, the Director of Public Affairs of the Police Service, DSP Cephas Arthur confirmed the incident saying “Yesterday(Monday) morning, we received a complaint from the Joma Chief Linguist, Nii Aryeequaye Aryee to the effect that he was  going to call the Joma Chief to accompany him to the court only to find him dead.”

He further stated that the Police made a follow up and proceeded to the house.

“The CID quarters have launched into a serious investigation into the issue and it is our hope that before long the secret behind the death will be revealed,”DSP Arthur said.

On the CAL Bank shooting incident, he stated that the police is still conducting investigations into the issue, saying “ the police officer has been arrested to assist in the investigation.”

“We are not going to spare any police officer who misconducts himself.”

A police officer, Corporal Bernard Frimpong, is said to have fired his AK 47 rifle at the banking hall repeatedly following a confrontation with the customer, named as Nathaniel Nortey last Saturday.
