Leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Northern Region on Wednesday March 26, 2014 met with the regional police command.
The meeting formed part of early preparations ahead of the NPP’s national delegates’ conference scheduled for April 12 in Tamale.
The Police earlier told Citi News it would deploy more officers to join the 90 officers who were deployed to Tamale in the wake of the recent shootings in the area.
The NPP Northern Regional Chairman, Daniel Bugri Naabu allayed the fears of delegates saying, “There are no fears at all and as I talk to you now the northern regional executives and the police met on security arrangements and so there are no fears.”
Mr. Daniel Bugri Naabu also said the proposed budget for the conference was submitted to the NPP national election committee for approval.
“We have finished our part and submitted all documents and the budget proposal to the national election committee for approval and we waiting for their response for the various committees to move into action.”
