Ghana’s sole campaigner in the CAF Confederations Cup, Medeama Sporting Club, will be playing at home against Zesco United of Zambia in the 1/8th stage on Sunday in Takoradi.
The Yellow and Mauves beat Panthers of Equatorial Guinea and MAS Fez of Morocco in the previous rounds and according to their spokesperson, Ebenezer Aidoo, they are getting ready to face a difficult test against the three-time Zambian champions.
” We know that we were going to face a stronger side than the teams we beat before getting here.
We are grateful to have come this far after meeting Panthers and Fez, but we have to prepare well for this tie and we are doing so now that the team is in camp”, he said in an interview with Citi Sports on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the contingent from Zesco has landed in Accra and they will be flown to Takoradi on Friday morning where they will begin preparing for the match on Sunday.
