The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) says Ghanaians should expect the time table for load shedding this Wednesday.
The country has already been experiencing erratic power cuts in the past few weeks which has been attributed to a shortfall in supply of gas from Nigeria.
The ECG announced last week that due to challenges being experienced in energy generation, a fixed timetable had to be drafted to determine the volumes of power to be shed
This time table will be for all 10 regions and will be published in the news papers.
Speaking to Citi News, the Head of Public Relations of the ECG, William Boateng told Citi News, his outfit is going to “manage about 160 megawatts during the day, that is, off peak periods and 350 megawatts during the peak period that is between 6pm to 6am.”
According to him, the timetable is being drafted in connection with the various representatives across the 10 regions of the country saying, “we are in touch with the regions because it’s going to be a national load shedding programme.”
