LG Electronics India has launched new Power Cut EverCool refrigerators with the ability to retain cooling for up to seven hours without electricity. This patented technology retains freezing for two more hours.
The unreliable nature of electricity has often resulted in refrigerated food and vegetables going stale and thrown away.
In a bid to salvage the situation, LG Electronics, a global leader in consumer electronics and home appliances has unveiled its new premium range of refrigerators with patented Power Cut Evercool technology onto the Ghanaian market.
The event was attended by distributors, dealers of LG products and policy-makers among others, was aimed at meeting the needs of Ghanaian consumers suffering from long power cuts and feels the need to keep their food fresh for healthy daily life.
According to officials of LG Electronics and Somotex Ghana Limited, LG Evercool Refrigerator retains freshness and keeps food and vegetables for seven hours. Evercool refrigerator has a triple cooling system with three evaporators.
They added: “The main evaporator works with power and other two evaporators work without power. During a power cut, compressor stops compressing refrigerants and instead the two evaporators on the sides takeover to keep circulating cool air.
This circulation enables longest cooling even in fridge for seven hours, based on third party test by intertek, a leading provider of quality, safety, testing, inspection and certification.
Speaking at the launch of the new range of refrigerators, the Branch Manager, LG Electronics Africa, C.H. Park said: “LG Evercool refrigerator retains freshness in the refrigerators section, keeping food and vegetables cool for seven hours even during long power cuts.
“It comes with tower LED, multi air flow and convertible box for optimal temperature from minus one degree Celsius to four degrees Celsius which is being controlled by exclusive cold air duct for a suitable condition for food.”
He added that; “there is also a moist balance crisper box which controls the humidity level in the box in order for the vegetables and fruits to stay fresh for a long time. It also supports a high gloss finish creating an opulent glow that accentuates the décor of the consumers’ living space.”
Mr. Park insisted that LG Electronics manufactures products that fit the needs of Ghanaian consumers, saying the launch of the new refrigerators was another benchmark innovation based on consumer’s insights.
