Konkombas in the Nkwanta North district of the Volta region are threatening to clash with indigenes there for allegedly attempting to chase them out of the area.
According to the angry Konkombas, the Nawuris at Kpassa in Northern Volta have already seized some of their farmlands and are provoking them on daily basis.
They therefore called on the national security to intervene before things get out of hand.
Spokesperson for the Konkomba NDC Youth of Ghana, Solomon Tamanja raised the alarm in an interview with Citi News after addressing the media in Accra.
“At Kpassa in Northern Volta, Nawuris continue to provoke Konkombas on daily basis that Kpassa belong to them (the Nawuris); Konkombas are being provoked and we are appealing to the National Security to take immediate steps since Konkombas will very soon run out of patience they have exhibited over some time now.”
Solomon Tamanja disclosed that the situation was not different in some parts of the Brong Ahafo region.
He said they have been overstretched beyond limit and could no longer tolerate the vindictiveness and discrimination by other tribes in Ghana.
Solomon Tamanja also accused President John Mahama of sidelining Konkombas in his administration.
“Since 1992 Konkombas have always voted for the NDC but the NDC and the NDC led government (John Mahama) have treated Konkombas as second-class citizens when it comes to personalities or appointment to ministerial, members of Boards and corporations or chief executives, government agencies and departments.”
He said Konkombas all over Ghana will abandon the NDC in 2016 if they are not recognized by President Mahama in his administration.
