The State on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 proffered three new charges against suspected armed robber Johnson Kombian.
He was freshly charged for one count of conspiracy to commit crime and two counts of murder.
The State prosecutor, Marina Appiah Opare read the facts of the case and disclosed that Corporal Osei Bonsu, who was at the Nakpanduri police station is the principal complainant in the case.
According to the State Attorney, Johnson Kombian and his accomplices were reported to have shot constables Prince Agyare and Owusu Frimpong who were returning from duty at the Nakpanduri police checkpoint on October 17 2010.
The State prosecutor said there were eight potential witnesses to testify in the case.
A seven member jury was empanelled to assist the court to deliver justice without fear or favour.
The presiding judge, His Lordship Justice Mustapha H. Logoh advised the jury to ignore radio discussions on the case and also refrain from disclosing any evidence in relation to the case at public gatherings.
Johnson Kombians counsel, George Assumaning pleaded with the jury to be fair and truthful in their dealings with the case.
The case has been adjourned to March 31 2014.
