Medeama Sporting Club has expressed certainty in beating Hearts of Oak in Wednesday’s First Capital Plus Premier League match at the Tarkwa T and A Park.
The match, which is being played on Wednesday due to Medeama’s participation in the CAF Confederations Cup, will be the first for the Yellow and Mauves after qualifying into the next stage of the continental competition at the expense of Mas Fez on Saturday but they are sure of winning to improve their standing on the league table.
“For us as a team, we believe we are capable of beating any side in the league.
We need to think like this if we want to do well in the league.
Aside the positive thinking, our record against Hearts of Oak is good and we are ready for them”, said Ebenezer Aidoo, the club’s Public Relations Officer in an interview with Citi Sports on Tuesday.
Medeama will play against Okwahu United in the MTN FA Cup on the 22nd March, just three days after playing away to Aduana Stars in the league, but according to Aidoo, they are upbeat about their ability to compete strongly in the League, FA Cup and the Confederations Cup.
“Despite the congestion of the games, we believe we will do just fine.
Taking part on the continent obviously brings its own challenges because we will have to play league games at rescheduled time but, we will be able to challenge in the various competitions.
We are in contention for the MTN FA Cup and we will work hard in the league even though we are quite far off from Kotoko at the moment.”
Medeama currently lie 8th on the log with 26 points while, their opponents, Hearts of Oak, have 34 points and are second on the log.
