Civil society organization called Peace Seekers International has called for a Presidential inquiry into the five missing babies at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.
The organization said government should go beyond the Ministry of Health’s 14-days ultimatum given management of KATH to produce the babies by setting up a Presidential committee to thoroughly investigate the matter.
National Coordinator of Peace Seekers International, Alhaji Abubakari Danaa told Citi News the missing five babies should be found at all cost.
“The babies must be found either buried or if even they are burnt; I will call on the President to institute a high powered investigative team to complement the efforts of the committee set up by the Ministry of Health so that at the end of the day we can come to the conclusion,” he explained.
Alhaji Danaa suspected that the mysterious missing baby saga could not be peculiar to only KATH and called for an extension of the committee’s exercise in other major health facilities across the country.
“As it is happening in Komfo Anokye it can be happening in other hospitals without anybody’s knowledge; in these days anything can happen in Ghana.”
