The Deputy Western Regional Minister, Alfred Ekow Gyan has entreated health practitioners to be guided by their professional vows in the discharge of their duties at all times.
Mr. Gyan was speaking at the annual performance review meeting of the Western Regional Ghana Health Service.
The performance review meeting assembled district directors, their management team, and health workers to take stock of the year under review, discuss challenges and re strategize for the year ahead.
The Deputy Regional minister pointed out that in as much as health practitioners have the right to demand for better conditions of service, it is imperative for them not to do so at the expense of lives of patients.
According to him, government is determined to improve health service delivery in Ghana but was quick to add that “it is not a political slogan but a reality government is pursuing.”
Mr. Gyan acknowledged that although achieving this aim will not be easy, the commitment of the President to achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDG 4) and ensuring the provision of quality healthcare to all Ghanaians will actualize this dream.
