10 suspected robbers arrested in Kumasi

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has announced the arrest of 10 suspected armed robbers in the region.

The new Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Nathan Kofi Boakye at a press briefing in Kumasi disclosed that the suspects were arrested at their hideout at Asokore Mampong.

Citi News’ Ashanti Regional correspondent, Hawa Iddrisu reported that the alleged robbers have been remanded into Police custody to assist the Police in investigation.

They are; Sheriff Mohammed, 20 years, Daniel Asampana, 20 years, Bernice Banatuni, 16 years, Dorcas Kyereme, 17 years, Moses Tetteh, 17 years, Anthony Asanga, 25 years, Charles Akordutey, 18 years, Mohammed Abdul Rhaman, 21 years, Sam Adashiru, 20 years and Akosua Mobilla.

Ms Iddrisu reported that another suspected armed robber, Sani who is 18 years was arrested on March 2 for attacking “one Yakubu Abubakar at his residence at Aboabo, a suburb of Kumasi and robbing him of his plasma TV, one DVD player, one Dell Laptop and a cash sum of GHC 780. His accomplices are now at large.”

DCOP Boakye revealed that the suspects will be lined up at the forecourt of the Police Regional Headquarters for public identification.

They will later be screened and processed for court.
