A founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe has described the national of executives of the party as the worst since its inception.
According to him, the performance of the current crop of executives led by its chairman, Jake Obetsebi Lamptey must be voted out of office.
“The present executives must all leave. Left to me alone, they should be voted out; from the chairman to the least person…that is my position,” he reiterated.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Citi News, Dr. Tamakloe opined that for the party to succeed in the 2016 elections, a new set of people must be voted in to manage it affairs.
He rated their performance as very poor adding that, pervious national executives who have served the party since its formation recorded excellent performance and “when I compare them [current executives], they don’t come close.”
He commended Agyenim Boateng who was once a general secretary and B. J. da Rocha as chairman, Peter Ala Adjetey and Samuel Odoi Sykes for their selfless service to the party.
Dr. Tamakloe also bemoaned the manner in which the vetting committee of the party is handling issues related to national chairman aspirant, Paul Afoko.
He described the actions of the committee as signs of inexperience among its members.
“Because of inexperience, I am not talking about competence; look at where we are now” stating that there was no need for the vetting committee to hint of a possible disqualification of Mr. Afoko because it has the likelihood of creating problems within the NPP which they should have been “able to preempt it,” he said.
In Dr. Tamakloe’s view, the committee should be cautious in handling the issue to safeguard the unity and peace within the party.
