The Minister of Local Government , Akwasi Oppong Fosu is appealing to the public to report corrupt officials at the various Metropolitan Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDA’s).

According to him, that will ensure that such officials to be investigated and prosecuted.
Residents in districts across the country continue to accuse officials at the various MMDA’s of corruption.
Speaking to Citi News, he emphasized the need for every individual to support the fight against corruption.
“The State institutions are there, if they are working, why all these reports about corruption, about misapplications and misuse? We need everybody on board, we need to engage the non-state actors as well they should also be concerned with the resources that come into their areas of jurisdiction and alert us if there is any suspicion of some untoward activities.”
Citing an example, he stated that “EOCO was one of the assemblies that was noted for financial irregularities as a result of information that was provided ”
“If we all do that at least we can keep people in check but when we don’t have such situations then people will do things with impunity”
