The exclusion of first choice Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda and midfield regular Mohammed Rabiu from the Black Stars squad to face Montenegro has led the FA to react.
A friendly international will be played in Podgorica on March 5, but both players were not called by Kwesi Appiah for what is being called as a key pre-World Cup warm up game.
“Dauda has been seen so many times by the coach. The coach also wants to give others the chance, which is why Stephen Adams has been invited alongside Adam Kwarasey,” Daara said.
“Kwesi Appiah wants to give all players at least some chance to prove themselves so that he can have a huge pool to draw the World Cup squad from.”
For 24-year-old Rabiu, he was not called for health reasons, mostly precautionary reasons following his recent problem with injury.
“We all know Rabiu went to the treatment room so the coach wants to give him the chance to fully recover,” the former BBC man ended, speaking to Asempa FM.
The Black Stars will be in their third straight World Cup finals in June after improved showings from 2006 to the quarter-finals in 2010.
