Striking doctors at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) will today review the security measures put in place by the hospital and the Regional Security Council and decide whether to resume work or not.
The doctors after being attacked by some irate youth over the missing body of a stillborn baby are yet to resume work despite numerous pleas from hospital authorities.
In an interview with Citi News, the General Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), Dr. Frank Serebuor noted that the doctors will go back to work when they are satisfied with the security arrangements
He revealed that a series of meetings have been ongoing between the management of the hospital and the doctors to discuss the efforts being made to meet the demands of the doctors.
According to him, “management will go round with the Doctors to go an access the security situation so that if all are satisfied, today, there will be a general meeting and then the decision on the strike will be taken at the general meeting.”
Meanwhile the family of the missing dead baby in a statement said they are disappointed in the way the Police are handling the matter.
They claimed that the police have taken the side of the doctors ignoring the real victims who is the mother of the missing dead baby.
