The Ga West Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra region has donated a large consignment of assorted food items to the Amasaman district hospital.
The items which included several bags of rice, cartons of frytol oil and cartons of milk were meant for the upkeep of Buruli ulcer patients on admission there.
According to the Municipal Chief Executive for the Ga West Municipality, Mr. Samuel Atuquaye Quaye, the donation was in direct response to the hospital management’s appeal for support.
He said the donation was a joint gesture by himself and the Member of Parliament for Amasaman, Emmanuel Nii Laryea.
Both the MCE and the MP commended staff of the hospital for their hard work and promised to find solutions to their teething problems.
They also reiterated their commitment to improve the health needs of residents of the Ga West Municipality.
Deputy Director of the Ghana Health Service in charge of the Ga West Municipality, Madam Faustina Kargbe commended the MCE and the MP for the kind gesture and promised to put it to good use.
