The Ga West Municipal Assembly has for the second time failed to appear in court over a lawsuit brought against the assembly by some property owners at Adjin Kotoku.
Some property owners there dragged the assembly to court over attempts to demolish their structures for the relocation of the Sodom and Gomorrah market.
The municipal assembly has since not filed its defense in court.
The case was supposed to be heard in court on Monday February 24 but the Municipal Chief Executive for Ga West, Mr. Samuel Atuquaye Quaye failed to show up.
Spokesperson for the Adjin Kotoku Landlords Association, Joseph Fankibi in an interview with Citi News described the situation as another fiasco.
He wondered why the authorities of the assembly who were in a haste to demolish their properties are running away from the court.
“We are very much surprised because these were people who were so much in hurry to and demarcate our properties for demolition and we would have wished that they will replicate the kind of urgency that they used to go and demarcate our properties for demolition in court.”
“We are so much disgusted about this; we are not happy about what is happening, the feet dragging is becoming too alarming.”
