7 charged for missing KATH baby

gavelSeven people have been officially charged by the Police in Ashanti region for their role in the missing dead baby saga at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

They have been charged with stealing and conspiracy to steal.

The body of the baby in question could not be found after it was pronounced dead after birth.

This generated some controversy with caused some irate youth to attack health officials at the maternity ward of the hospital.

The Public Relations Officer of the Ashanti Regional Police Command, ASP Mohammed Yussif Tanko explained to Citi News, the docket has been forwarded to the Attorney General’s [AGs] for advice.

He revealed that they suspects have once again been released on bail.

Meanwhile, the family of Suweiba, the mother of the missing baby has welcomed the news.

An uncle to the baby, Rahman Mohammed said the family is satisfied with the progress the Police is making on the matter and expressed optimism that the affected mother will equally be pleased with the development.
