The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region has thrown its weight behind the nomination of the headmaster of Tepa Senior High School, as the new Regional Minister.<\/p>\n
According to the regional branch of the party, Peter Anarfi-Mensah, is a strong party member and is well known by the party.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”ONbOJ5pmLF3prvxG3GV4w2HSxIyqkvqB”]Following the dismissal of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Samuel Sarpong and his Deputy, Joseph Yamin<\/strong><\/span> <\/a>last week, the President over the weekend appointed Mr. Anarfi-Mensah<\/strong><\/span><\/a> as the new Regional Minister in his latest Ministerial reshuffle.<\/p>\n Sarpong and Yamin were allegedly dismissed as a result of a supposed rift between them and the top hierarchy of the party in the region which reportedly created factions within the party thus making it difficult to manage the affairs of the region.<\/p>\n After the President\u2019s nomination, questions arose over the competence of Anarfi-Mensah to manage the region but the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC, Ernest Brogya Gyamfi said the new Minister-designate has served in various capacities in the party and is thus qualified.<\/p>\n
