Education Initiative of Ghana (GEIC), hosted a workshop at the University of Ghana Legon campus last\u00a0Saturday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The workshop was aimed at educating and inspiring young women to succeed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC05620.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-98512\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC05620.jpg\" alt=\"DSC05620\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thirteen girls from GEIC joined with university students to listen to a talk by Daphne Lariba Nabila, a prominent lawyer and Executive Director of the Legal Resources Centre (LRC), a human rights and development NGO.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Daphne spoke about the tenants of a successful life, covering everything from the importance of having a vision to the value of confidence and persistence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC05623.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-98513\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC05623.jpg\" alt=\"DSC05623\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Elizabeth also shared her story with the audience, discussing the serious accident that left her physically disabled and suffering from a brain injury.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC05634.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-98514\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC05634.jpg\" alt=\"DSC05634\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She used her experience to show the audience that they, too, could rise above their circumstances regardless of how insurmountable they appear and achieve great success in their field.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC05850.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-98515\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC05850.jpg\" alt=\"DSC05850\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Today, Elizabeth focuses on educating girls, especially those with special needs who are often overlooked by the system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC01846.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-98511\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC01846.jpg\" alt=\"DSC01846\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kokui Selormey also attended the workshop and shared her story of finding her passion in life and conquering her fears and self-doubt to achieve success as a popular television host and a performer of classical music.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kokui now uses her talents to help raise funds for charitable causes and is an advisor to a non-governmental organization that supports the survival of children in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC01823.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-98509\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC01823.jpg\" alt=\"DSC01823\" width=\"400\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The workshop included a Q&amp;A forum where students were encouraged to share their own experiences and encourage each other as well as interact with the speakers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To close the workshop, the students were encouraged to vote for the favorite Vlisco Women\u2019s Month nominee.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p
