The annual Citi FM Music of Ghanaian Origin (MOGO) Festival is set to take over Ghana from Saturday March 21 to 28 with a series of events to celebrate music of Ghanaian origin.<\/p>\n
Some of the best music moments would occur during the festival with the biggest names in indigenous Ghanaian music lined up to perform throughout the week.<\/p>\n
The MOGO Festival begins with the Accra Music Expo <\/strong>at Mantse Agbonaa on Saturday March 21 with some of the best indigenous Ga bands and musicians as well as a hotly contested \u2018Jama\u2019 Competition.<\/p>\n The Accra Music Expo would be a huge open air party with the likes of Tinny, Adane Best, Dzajeloi and a host of others taking their turn to thrill patrons at Mantse Agbonaa – Jamestown.<\/p>\n On Sunday March 22, ten deceased musicians will be remembered and honored at a special MOGO Memorial Service. <\/strong>The event is to immortalize the musicians and honor them for the contributions to Ghanaian music.<\/p>\n The late musicians to be honored at the Memorial Service are Dr. K. Gyasi, Dr. Paa Bobo, P. K. Nyamoah, Rev. Kusi Berko, Terry Bonchaka, Mac Tontoh (Osibisa), Jerry Hansen (Ramblers), Ampofo Agyei, Michael Dwamena and Alex Konadu.<\/p>\n Some living legends will also be honored at a special event dubbed the 3 Nights with Highlife Greats. <\/strong>An exceptional musician will be hosted by 97.3 Citi FM from 23rd<\/sup> March to Wednesday 24th<\/sup> March at the plush Alisa Hotel.<\/p>\n The legends will take turns to tell their life stories, with a band in the background performing their hits intermittently. Nana Kwame Ampadu, Ben Brako and Paapa Yankson will take turns each night to tell their stories and be honored.<\/p>\n
