rights of Muslim students<\/strong><\/a><\/span> attending Christian-based schools, is solved through dialogue.<\/p>\nThe National Chief Imam said this when Nesrin Bayazit, the Turkish Ambassador to Ghana paid a courtesy call on him at his residence in Accra.<\/p>\n
Sheikh Sharubutu thanked the Turkish Ambassador for the visit and the continued support the Turkish government was giving to the Muslim community.<\/p>\n
He appealed to the Turkish government to give his office a quota of its annual scholarship to students abroad, to be given to needy but brilliant students from the Ghanaian Muslim community.<\/p>\n
Ambassador Bayazit said the Turkish government attached much importance to the development of the Muslim community in Ghana and would continue to provide assistance in such regard.<\/p>\n
She mentioned the on-going construction of the National Mosque at Kanda in Accra, being finance by the Turkish government, as some of the packages to help develop the Muslim community.<\/p>\n
Ambassador Bayazit commended the various religious leaders in Ghana for their tolerance and urged all to continue to sustain it.<\/p>\n
She said her outfit would seriously consider the request by the National Chief Imam, regarding the scholarship given to students abroad and the quota to his office.<\/p>\n
